Zoo Wuppertal sits on the side of a hilly area of the city. There are over 5,000 species of animals. Their most important animal enclosures include those for:

  • Tropical Birds
  • Penguins

Guided tours, evening tours, and behind the scenes tours can be booked in advance. The zoo is open every day, except for Christmas Day. They have reduced hours between Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. Please visit the website for more information.


The Zoo is located near the Schwebebahn suspension train stop Zoo/Stadion. Be sure to allow some time to ride Wuppertal’s public transportation, the city’s most popular attraction.
