This 14th-century castle was home to one family, the von Steengrachts. They lived there from the mid-1700s until 1945. During WWII the building sustained damages, so the family left.

The Schloss Moyland Foundation restored the property in the 1990s and it is now a museum for contemporary and modern art. It’s also a research facility for Joseph Beuys. He was a 20th-century artist from the NRW.

Visitors can explore the castle and art collection, as well as the Baroque Gardens. Families will enjoy the Sculpture Garden. Guided tours and workshops are available for an additional fee. Check the website for details.

Pick up the interactive game created by the museum for visitors to have fun in the sculpture garden.
